World Book Day
We started the morning with 'Books & Breakfast', and it was a wonderful way to begin the day. A huge thank you to all the parents who joined us for a pastry and a book before school. A Special Visit to Roecliffe
On Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome Bishop Anna of Ripon and Reverend Sue to school. They joined RE lessons across the classes, met with our Faith Council to share more about their roles, and helped us celebrate sealing a new time capsule. This will hopefully be opened in 50 years’ time!

Food Tasters!
Ahead of Chinese New Year, Class 1 have been busy being adventurous food tasters! The children tried kumquats, noodles, and soy sauce, some were big hits, and others definitely sparked a few funny faces. Everyone gave it a go, and it was a fun way to explore new flavours.

Young Voices 2026!
On Friday, we were thrilled to join over 5,000 children as part of the world’s largest children’s choir, Young Voices 2026! Our children were absolutely AMAZING! A huge thank you to all our families and friends who joined us for the evening concert, the atmosphere was incredible, and we hope you enjoyed it just as much as we did!

Roecliffe dancers!
Class 3 participated in a Dance Festival organised by Sporting Influence this morning. They performed a medley of dances through the eras, well done to everyone for the amazing performance!

Judaism
This morning, we welcomed Jan Levi from the Leeds Synagogue. She delivered an assembly for pupils introducing our focus religion for the year, Judaism.

Tees Barrage
Last week, Class 3 visited Tees Barrage. They enjoyed learning how rivers are formed, how rivers have changed over time, how Tees Barrage control water flow and the animals that live there.

Boroughbridge Care Home
Yesterday, Class 3 visited Boroughbridge Manor Care Home - Barchester Healthcare , they delivered Christmas cards they had made for the residents and sang some carols! Thank you for having us.

‘Whoops-a-Daisy Angel’
A huge well done to Class 1 for their wonderful ‘Whoops-a-Daisy Angel’ nativity performance! A big thank you to all the Class 1 staff for their hard work, and to parents and carers for providing costumes and coming along to support the children. 'The Decider' Life Skills
Over the past four weeks, our Year 6 pupils have taken part in a series of sessions led by the Harrogate Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Each week, they learned valuable strategies to support and strengthen their mental health.

Michael Rosen Day
Today is Michael Rosen Day! You might know him as the beloved author of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. This morning, we joined hundreds of other schools in a live poetry webinar with Michael Rosen himself! This afternoon, each class will be creating their own poems inspired by the theme of kindness and there will be prizes for the best poem from each class.

Remembrance Day
A moment to reflect and remember. We would like to thank our School Council for opening our Remembrance Worship with a prayer and leading us in the two minutes’ silence. Thank you also to Tim Collins, representing the Royal British Legion, and to Reverend Sue Simpson for closing our service with a prayer.

Thank you to North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service who visited us today. They spoke about how to stay safe on the coming dark nights along with staying safe on Bonfire Night and while out trick-or-treating on Halloween.

Roecliffe Netballers!
Today some of our Year 5/6 girls took part in a netball competition at Boroughbridge High School, organised by Sporting Influence. We’re delighted to share that the team played brilliantly and won and are now through to the finals! A huge well done to everyone for their effort and enthusiasm, and thank you to Sporting Influence and Boroughbridge High School for hosting a great event.

Forest School Day
On Friday the whole school took part in a Forest School Day! We even had the pleasure of Happylittle Hedgehogs Nursery joining us. Mrs Green & Miss Ratliffe planned a whole day of outdoor learning including making leaf crowns, clay faces and potions!
