Crucial Crew
Our Year 6 pupils had a fantastic day at Crucial Crew today, run by North Yorkshire Police and partner agencies. They took part in a range of interactive sessions covering important topics such as personal safety, online safety, and making responsible choices as they prepare for secondary school. The children were a credit to our school and represented us brilliantly throughout the day. Well done, Year 6!

All Creatures Great & Small
In History, Class 2 have been learning about Alf Wight/James Herriot. Yesterday, they had the exciting opportunity to visit the The World of James Herriot museum in Thirsk, helping to bring their learning to life. The children enjoyed exploring the exhibits, discovering more about Alf Wight's life and work, and learning what life was like as a vet. It was a fantastic hands-on experience!

Dancing for Well-being!
On Monday, Class 2 we were joined by Dancing for Well-being fro a fun afternnoon! "We had the most wonderful afternoon at Roecliffe, our members thoroughly enjoyed sharing their love of dance (and a biscuit or two!) with the pupils! Thorp Perrow
On Tuesday, our Class 1 pupils enjoyed a fantastic day at Thorp Perrow. They loved exploring the arboretum, watching the impressive bird of prey display, meeting the meerkats, and getting up close to the wallabies! To finish the day, the children had lots of fun in the play area. They all did amazingly well throughout such a busy and exciting day and were a credit to the school. Synagogue Visit
As part of our RE learning about Judaism, Class 2 and 3 enjoyed a visit to The United Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Leeds this week. The children learned about Jewish beliefs, worship, and traditions, gaining a valuable first-hand insight into the Jewish faith. They asked thoughtful questions and have had an amazing time. This week we took our Year 5 & 6 pupils to London for the day and what a fantastic day it was! We started out at The Natural History Museum where we also got to see the Wildlife Photographer of the year exhibit, the children loved the photos and exploring the rest of the exhibits. Play2EmpowHer
Girls in Years 2–5 are taking part in Play2EmpowHer, an initiative by Sporting Influence designed to inspire more girls to get involved in football while building their confidence and teamwork.

Healthy Baking
Beth from Phunky Foods and our Wellbeing Ambassadors led a fantastic food workshop today with Class 3, focusing on the importance of fibre. The children worked in groups to make some delicious soda bread, recipes will be coming home!

Roecliffe Runners!
Today, pupils in Year 1-6 took part in a Cross Country event at Boroughbridge High School. It was perfect weather for a run and they all did amazing! Thank you to Boroughbridge High School for hosting and Sporting Influence for organising.

Easter Service
During our ‘Open the Book’ collective worship, Reverend Simpson shared the Easter story with the help of our Faith Council. The children did a wonderful job bringing the story to life for everyone.

All Rise
Class 3 had an exciting visit from All Rise Workshops today, led by James Stewart, a former solicitor. We learned all about the justice system in a fun and interactive way and even had the chance to dress up!

World Book Day
We started the morning with 'Books & Breakfast', and it was a wonderful way to begin the day. A huge thank you to all the parents who joined us for a pastry and a book before school. A Special Visit to Roecliffe
On Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome Bishop Anna of Ripon and Reverend Sue to school. They joined RE lessons across the classes, met with our Faith Council to share more about their roles, and helped us celebrate sealing a new time capsule. This will hopefully be opened in 50 years’ time!

Food Tasters!
Ahead of Chinese New Year, Class 1 have been busy being adventurous food tasters! The children tried kumquats, noodles, and soy sauce, some were big hits, and others definitely sparked a few funny faces. Everyone gave it a go, and it was a fun way to explore new flavours.

Young Voices 2026!
On Friday, we were thrilled to join over 5,000 children as part of the world’s largest children’s choir, Young Voices 2026! Our children were absolutely AMAZING! This morning, we welcomed Jan Levi from the Leeds Synagogue. She delivered an assembly for pupils introducing our focus religion for the year, Judaism.

Tees Barrage
Last week, Class 3 visited Tees Barrage. They enjoyed learning how rivers are formed, how rivers have changed over time, how Tees Barrage control water flow and the animals that live there.
